Your platform to share and inspire

My TB Story is a dedicated platform where anyone affected by tuberculosis (TB) can share their experiences. Whether you are currently battling TB, a survivor, a healthcare provider, or someone who has witnessed the impact of TB, your story matters.

Why share your story?

Increase Awareness

  • Over 300,000 people will get sick with TB in South Africa this year. What does this mean? Almost half won’t know they have TB. Sharing your story can help others about the disease, its symptoms, and treatment options.
  • By sharing your journey, you can emphasize the importance of recognizing TB symptoms and seeking timely medical care.

Break the Stigma

  • TB carries a sense of shame and embarrassment that can prevent people from seeking help. Your story can help break this stigma and create a more supportive environment for those affected.
  • Personal stories can normalize discussing symptoms and encourage proactive health measures.

Encourage Action

  • Sharing your story can inspire others to take action, whether it’s getting tested, seeking treatment, or supporting someone with TB.
  • Highlight the importance of respectful and dignified treatment for all TB patients.

We all have a story. Sharing your TB journey can help end the stigma and encourage people to seek help. Together, we can create a South Africa where TB is no longer a barrier to living a healthy and fulfilling life.

By sharing your journey, you can inspire Mzansi (South Africa) and show fellow South Africans battling TB that they're not alone
